How to use Yakonow.
Yacon syrup goes with everything sweet. Here are the recipes our subscribers come back to. Mix, match, adapt — it heat-stable up to 350°F (177°C).
Breakfast classics
The Classic Pancake
Drizzle 1-2 tablespoons of Yakonow over a stack of pancakes. The amber-honey color and rich molasses-like notes elevate any breakfast. Pairs perfectly with butter, fresh berries, or a sprinkle of cinnamon.
The Honest Waffle
Same idea, just on waffles. Belgian, regular, sweet potato — doesn't matter. The slow drip of Yakonow into the squares is half the magic.
The Yacon Oatmeal
Stir 1 teaspoon of Yakonow into warm oatmeal. Top with fresh berries, chia seeds, and a few almonds. Naturally sweet without the sugar crash.
The Yogurt Layer
Drizzle Yakonow over Greek yogurt. Layer with granola and fresh fruit. The yacon balances the tang of the yogurt without overpowering it.
Coffee + drinks
The Yacon Latte
1 teaspoon Yakonow in your morning latte instead of sugar. The mild caramel notes pair beautifully with espresso and oat milk.
The Iced Coffee
Stir 1 teaspoon of Yakonow into iced coffee. Dissolves cleanly in cold liquid (unlike honey). Add a dash of vanilla for a salted caramel iced coffee at home.
The Yacon Old Fashioned (for grown-ups)
Replace simple syrup with Yakonow in your old fashioned. Whiskey + Yakonow + Angostura bitters + orange peel. Sophisticated.
Baking
Yacon Pancake Batter
Replace sugar 1:1 with Yakonow in your pancake batter. The batter caramelizes beautifully, and your pancakes get a richer color and depth of flavor.
Yacon Banana Bread
Replace sugar in your favorite banana bread recipe with Yakonow. Use 3/4 of the amount called for (Yakonow is naturally moist). Adds a subtle molasses note that pairs perfectly with ripe banana.
Yacon Granola
Toss oats, almonds, coconut flakes, and seeds with melted coconut oil and Yakonow before baking at 325°F. The yacon caramelizes during baking, giving you golden-brown clusters with a rich nutty flavor.
Savory + dressings
Yacon Vinaigrette
Whisk 2 tablespoons olive oil + 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar + 1 teaspoon Yakonow + Dijon mustard + salt + pepper. Drizzle over salads. The Yakonow balances the acidity beautifully.
Yacon Glaze for Roasted Vegetables
Mix 1 tablespoon Yakonow + 1 tablespoon tamari + 1 tablespoon olive oil. Brush over carrots, sweet potatoes, or Brussels sprouts before roasting. Caramelizes into a savory-sweet glaze.
